Safety

- SRS airbags
Enjoy the peace of mind of knowing your Lancer is equipped with effective crash protection - with driver and front passenger SRS airbags, and driver and front passenger SRS knee airbags. For added safety, side and curtain airbags are available as an option.

- Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) works together with your Colt Cabriolet's Anti-Lock Braking System to assess load, and distribute braking force between the front and rear wheels. This means that when carrying passengers in the rear, you stop in a shorter distance than with standard brakes.

- Active Stability Control (ASC)
Active Stability Control (ASC) ensures stability and prevents loss of control when cornering. ASC automatically recognises 'under steer' and 'over steer', and applies braking to the diagonal wheel to keep the Lancer on line through corners - even in the most difficult of situations.

- Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE)
You'll feel safe knowing you're protected by the strong body created by the Mitsubishi Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) system. It means you and your passengers are protected by the latest energy-absorbing chassis design and technology. In the event of a collision, impact-absorbing crushable zones are designed to absorb and dissipate energy away from the passenger compartment, keeping you and your passengers cocooned and protected.

- Brake assist
When carrying passengers or cargo in the rear, Brake Assist recognises emergency stopping situations within milliseconds, releasing pressurised brake fluid as soon as you depress the pedal - anabling more accurate stopping.

- Active Traction Control (ATC)
Active Traction Control (ATC) helps the Lancer maintain traction on the most slippery or rugged of surfaces. It automatically controls the engine's output - so driving wheels are prevented from spinning. Sensing loss of traction in independent wheels, ATC applies braking force to that particular wheel and sends extra power and torque to other wheels with traction to keep the vehicle moving.

- Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
With the Lancer's Anti-Lock Braking System, (ABS), your brakes don't lock when suddenly applied. ABS helps you retain complete control - improving overall safety and manageability.

Performance

- MIVEC engine
Under the bonnet of the Colt Cabriolet, you'll find a choice of engines. The turbo-powered 1.5L engine offers 110kW of power and 210Nm of torque, while the normally aspirated engine returns a frugal 6.6L/100km.

- 5-speed manual transmission
Keyless synchronisers on all gears deliver a superior shift-feel, letting you enjoy the primal excitement of hands-on control as the precision-tuned manual transmission answers your every command.

- INVECS III 'Smart Logic' transmission
Enjoy effortless acceleration and a more predictable ride. The Lancer's INVECS III (Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control System) improves performance by automatically switching between logic controls. An onboard computer learns and adapts to a driver's preferences by recording engine and foot braking data. The control logic then adapts the automatic gearshift timing to suit that driver's style, while minimising torque function fluctuation.

-Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
Continuously Variable automatic Transmission (CVT) is an automatic transmission that's electronically integrated with the MIVEC engine to ensure the Lancer is always operating in the best gear ratio. CVT offers infinitely variable rates that allow the engine to always operate at optimum rpm, irrespective of the veicle's speed - and also ensures a smooth transition between gears.

- Sports mode
Sports Mode lets you enjoy the racing feel of changing gears, with a 6-step shift control that still provides the convenience of an automatic transmission.

- Rally-bred
Lancer has evelved into a sports machine like no other, turning heads on city streets and rally stages alike. It all started with the 1600 GSR. In 1973, the first Lancer hit the streets and the world of motor sport, taking a remarkable 1-2-3-4 victory in the Southern Cross Rally. A legend was born.
