History

Designed with the world rally championships in its sights, the very first Lancer Evolution went on sale in 1992. We are now seeing the 9th iteration of the legendary Evolution tradition – which is a culmination of 12 years of evolving and refinement.

The present glory enjoyed by Lancer Evolution is the result of continuous effort from Mitsubishi engineers to establish a solid technological base. Evolution is not a short-term dream to create a fast car, but a vision to continuously upgrade and improve from generation to generation.
